no limit hold’em cash game at home I hit a straight whith 1 of my hole cards, do I have to show my 2 card if it does not play? my hole cards were 10-7….I tried to bluff and steal the blinds with a pre-flop raise but was called by 1 guy. The flop was 10-5-4 off suit so I bet thinking I could still steal it but was called again, next was a 6 so now I was open ended with top pair so I raised again and was just called so I’m thinking O.K. either I get an 8 or I’m done well I got the 8 on the river and bet hard ….I got called so I flipped my 7 to show the straight and the guy flipped out yelling what could I have to bet with if I show only a7 and demanded to see my other card cursing and insulting so I got mad and said no.. you only use 5 cards and I showed my 7 for the win now I know there is different rules for tourny and casino play but what about house rules? if your asking what the other guy had it was 10-Q off suit, when he lost it and through his cards in they flipped over..lol
In a tournament you have to show both and most casinos require both cards be shown in a show down.
Since this is a house game it all depends on the rules that the host established, if none were set I would not show the 2nd as well.
I would have shown the second if the other player did not flip out, my question to him is why did he call a raise with such a weak hand like Q 10 and calling all bets with a staight on board with only top pair and an average kicker? If he is to be mad at anyone it should be at himself for playing so poorly.
