What Is Greyhound’s Luggage Policy for their NYC to Atlantic City service?
My gf and I are taking Greyhound from NYC Port Authority to the AC casinos tomorrow. We already bought our tickets in advance and plan on staying down there for a couple of days, therefore we have some luggage. I’m especially concerned for my gf because she’s bringing a large luggage bag with her. Do they allow you to place your luggage underneath the bus for the Atlantic City trips? I know they do for their regular routes. Thanks for any advice/help you can give us.
Oh, the ACES train is the WORST way to go. You pay $60 and don’t even get a casino bonus. BTW, Greyhound is always around $35 round trip to the casinos and you get a some kind of bonus upon arrival. I’ve taken it before in the past, just not with luggage.
I hope you got a REALLY good deal. Because right now the ACES train is only $29 each way. Most of the Greyhound buses are about $70 round trip and are a horrible ride.
If you’re going to the Atlantic City bus terminal, you should be able to put your luggage under the bus. If it’s going to a casino, they probably won’t. Either way, they usually have overhead compartments like on an airplane.

gambling? I know this question is silly, but, any ideas on how to win, or, at least nor lose?
I haven’t gambled for 30 yrs and I understand it is all different now; I used to play BJ but I feel my level is now the slots( yea, I know ). The casino is local, not a big deal like in Vegas, but they do have tables. Suggestions? I am prepared to lose 100.00 ( slots ), but if you ahve an ideas on how I could NOT lose, that would be great! Wheel of Fortune? Thanks for answering the impossible!
Well.. Your wheel of Fortune is not a very good idea. I think that darn thing has the highest house edge out of any game in the joint. The only way to not lose is don’t gamble.. BUT.. you don’t stand a chance of winning anything. $100.00 last a long time as long as your not max betting. Have a blast and if (when) you do win?? Take that money out the door with….

Slots Winners Weekly Circle brings you 5 jackpot slots winners who tell their ‘life-changing’ stories.
1) Before I Hit the Road…
Linda Casborne of Redland, CA was thinking about hitting the road after playing for a short while at San Manuel Indian Bingo and casino in Highland, CA.
However, there was time to try the Money Madness Marilyn Monroe slot machine that she says was beckoning her. ‘I never played this machine before; there was no reason for me to be drawn to it,” said the 53-year-old. “The machine just seemed to call me as I was getting ready to leave.” Her impulse was correct in that shortly, the MegaJackpot hit the big one for $555, 683.
“When I realized I won, I can’t begin to describe how I felt,” said Casborne.
The winner plans to help her family in New Orleans recover from Hurricane Katrina’s aftermath, set up a college fund for her four grandchildren and catch up on some bills.
2) Two of the Best
After a win of $1600 at the Taj Mahal, AC on the first of two $5 Wheel of Fortune slots, Joy Stell of Sagamore Hills, OH decided to invest $50 of her winnings in a second Wheel slot. Ten minutes of play produced a whopping $1,663,256 win and this astonished statement, “I thought I hit $10,000 and my friends were screaming that I won the progressive jackpot, but I wanted to wait until somebody who knew what they were talking about came to tell me. Then the slot attendant said, “Now be calm, you just won a million and half dollars. I just sat there looking at the machine, saying to myself, I’m going to wake up from the dream”.
This retired schoolteacher naturally plans to use some of the jackpot for the college education of her two 17- month old twin grandchildren and then it’s on to Hawaii. Donations to charities and renovating of the Florida retirement home with her husband of 47 years, Guy will be in the future for this millionaire.
3) Dreams of a Retired Minister
Lonnie Marline Bowling, a retired, disabled minister from Sylacauga, AL paused to consider the circumstances of his newfound wealth.
“I just had a feeling”, said the 49 year-old about the weekend trip he and his wife had planned to Beau Rivage Resort & casino. While his wife was feeling ill, she encouraged him to keep their plans on his own-at least for one night so that he could make it home in time for the holiday on Sunday.
Then he hit a $3,087,462 jackpot on a new IGT Megabucks video slots nickel progressive system. “I had a dream that I won $33,000 on a slot machine last week and I felt that luck was right around the corner”, Bowling said, acknowledging that the sleep induced vision led him to seek out one of the new Megabucks video slots progressive machine. “At least I had the ‘threes’ right”. After the five-hour drive from his northern Alabama home and playing $200 on the nickel denomination machine for another two hours, Bowling was feeling tired and hungry and nearly stopped playing, but the dreams wouldn’t let him leave.
4) A Strike in the Desert
Roberto Corralez Figueroa won $4,279,360 when he hit the dollar Wheel of Fortune progressive MegaJackpot at the Harrah’s Phoenix Ak-Chin Resort. The winner, a water pipe installer from Coolidge, AZ did not realize his strike immediately, but became very excited when told of his MegaJackpot progressive windfall. Figueroa is a regular customer and stated correctly, “I always play the winning machine.” Future plans are not complete; however, this gigantic prize will “buy a house” and “I will go to work as usual” said the thrilled player.
5) Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend
The Marilyn Monroe Diamond Cinema slot is a favorite of Karen Smith and after only 15 minutes and $40 worth of play; she was rewarded with a ‘shimmering’ jackpot of $2,155,280.
Karen of Cherokee Village, AR likes to play at Imperial Palace hotel casino in Biloxi MS. She didn’t realize she won until she checked the meter again. “I was in disbelief. I needed confirmation from my friend, Lois. I am going to share my winning by helping others”, said Smith.
Have a Lucky Day!

It takes an enormous staff to run a casino and there is certainly more to it than the glamorous visions you see on television. Aside from the bartenders and dealers that are portrayed, it is actually the staff behind the scenes that keep things running smoothly.
Just to list a few of the jobs on the main floor – Dealers, Slot waitresses, table waitresses, Bartenders, Doormen, Porters, Cashiers, Writers, Slot machine personnel, Security guards, Booth personnel, Receptionists.

SALARIES
Floor supervisors and managers are at the top of the totem pole in earnings followed by poker, craps, and baccarat dealers. Their take is from $40 to $270 a day depending on the location. Dealers live mainly off tips and tend to have very low salaries. The pit and slot waiters are next in line earning the most in tips. Security personnel can earn $70 to $120 a day depending on location. Some casinos offer freemedical. Many of the positions within casinos are represented by unions.
Upon being hired to work at a casino, Human Resources will assist you in obtaining a Sheriff’s card or a “work permit.” If you are serving alcohol, you will also need a card to handle or sell liquor. This also applies if you handle food.
Whether you seek a job on the floor or behind the scenes, there are many exciting opportunities with a career in the casino gaming industry. Many positions require some experience or training, but there are a few unrelated positions that can get your foot in the door.
